A Month of Living with a Thankful Heart

It is hard to believe that October is over!  I love October.  I think it is one of my favorite months of the year.  I always feel homesick in October.  Something about missing cooler Autumn days, sweaters, hot chocolate, pumpkins, red, yellow, and brown leaves.  This month is over but November lies ahead.  I am thankful for the holiday season that lies ahead.  For friends on this side of the world who feel like family when our "real" family is so far away. For technology that helps us keep in touch and see our families on the other side of the world.

My month long series of Living with a Thankful Heart is over but the Lord continues to teach me to live out his word...

		do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Day 29 of Living with a Thankful Heart

I am so thankful this morning for a wonderful date night with my sweetheart last night.  We went to a new Indian restaurant and ate at an all you can eat!  Needless to say...I woke up and exercised to work off that amazing food.  I love Indian food.  After eating we walked around the night market.  I was given a Thai name by one of the vendors...Joy!  I didn't realize Joy is a Thai name.  :) I love this place!

Day 28 of Living with a Thankful Heart

Wow, it has been five days since I have been on here!  Life has been busy.  Good, but busy.

My sweetheart came home from India late Tuesday night.  Usually he is exhausted after a trip but he must have had a ton of coke on the plane, plus he was on Indian time.  It was a late night!  He came bearing gifts too.  :)  He brought us lots of tea!  That was our favorite part of living there, all the amazing and cheap teas. 

He bought me some beautiful shawls too.  Absolutely beautiful!  Can't wait for cooler weather so that I can wear them.  

The kids and I have been on Fall break this week!  It has been wonderful. Monday we all have to get busy again!  Christmas will be here before we know it and we will get another break then.

I guess I am mostly thankful that my best friend is home and for the relaxing week of no school!

This morning I am thankful for K-love who lets us listen live...even in foreign countries!  It has truly been an encouragement to my heart this morning as we have prepared for a couple of friends coming over for worship!

Day 19 of Living With a Thankful Heart

I am thankful that I married a scholar of the Word.  My Bible was downstairs a day or so ago and instead of going down to get it, I grab my sweetheart's Bible.  I found all sorts of writing in it. I love it!  
 

Day 18 of Living with a Thankful Heart

I am thankful today for modern technology that allows me to be in contact so easily with friends and family!  My sweetheart traveled to India this morning and thankfully I just received an email telling me he made it!  I don't know if this is normal or just a spiritual warfare thing, but every time he travels (especially to places that I know what the traffic is like) I play through my head "what ifs".  I feel almost as if I need a game plan in case something does happen.  Anyways, I can sleep peacefully knowing he is safe and sound.  At least I hope I sleep peacefully...there is something really BIG in our attic.  Hopefully IT will go to sleep and be peaceful too!

I am so thankful that I am not beating myself up over missing a few days of not posting.  I knew being able to post every single day would be near impossible, because, well life does go on.  Even when I am in the midst of a blog carnival.  :)

Day 12:  I am thankful for a hubby who did the dishes while I was at language class!  What a treat to come home to.

Day 13:  I am thankful for my kids who are becoming so independent in their school work.  Rocket is really taking off and I am thankful I get to experience this part of their academic life!  Sassy is just the little scholar anyways!

This morning I am thankful for modern day miracles!  After reading a friend's blog over here, I am just praising Jesus for taking care of and protecting their little girl!

Day 9 of Living with a Thankful Heart

I wrote a post on Friday and then the internet stopped working.  The draft is on the other computer.  :)  I will post it later tonight.  Yesterday I didn't want to get on the computer to blog...but I was thankful!  Today I am thankful for a sweet couple we had house church with this morning.  We studied the last half of Philippians 2.  I love Philippians!  I wanna be like Paul.  Well, not his life, but his attitude!  Tonight we are heading out with this same with couple, who happens to be from Texas too, to the Sunday Market here in our town.  We are planning to pig out!  I hear they have shawarmas and I love shawarmas.  I am sure my thankfulness will have something to do with that tomorrow.  :)

I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.  Psalm 69:30

Day 6 of Living with a Thankful Heart

I read this verse this morning and wanted to share it today for my 31 Days to Living Life with a Thankful Heart.

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
   you have loosed my sackcloth
   and clothed me with gladness,
that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent.

Day 4 of Living With a Thankful Heart

Today I am thankful for ...

Little rotten kitties who put up with a little rotten boy in the mornings.

For as long as I can remember I have been allergic to cats. 

I passed this trait down to my baby boy.

Of course, not by choice.

I never in a million years imagined we would have an inside cat.  I have never had an inside cat.  My hubby can't stand cats inside either.  I think he married me for my allergies!

Last year when we moved to Thailand we knew we had to get a pet.  We had a yard and every yard needs a pet.  I saw an ad for free kittens.

Let's just say we had a surprise for Hubby when he got home from work that day.  :)

My intentions were to keep the kitty protected inside long enough to grow up, get spayed, and learn to fight her own battles against the other neighborhood cats.  

It never happened...Rocket and I are not allergic to her.  It is completely a God thing!  She never has grown up...she was the runt and still is. 

And she is rotten!

Day 3 of Living With a Thankful Heart

Today am thankful for...

• an amazing home school day...the kids were motivated and learning came easy today!
• my crock pot...makes dinners so much easier!
• the cooler weather...I actually felt like cooking.  That hasn't happened in months.  I mean I have cooked but don't usually want to. :)
• my time at the gym this evening
• the kids cleaning up the kitchen after dinner...I absolutely love this!!!
• for my hubby!

Living Life with a Thankful Heart

This month I am joining others over at My Three Boybarians for the month of October.  The object of 31 Days is to choose a topic and focus my blog writing on it for the entire month of October.  My topic for this month will be 31 Days to Living a Life with a Thankful Heart. 

Living overseas has it struggles and oh how the enemy loves to magnify those struggles.  I am determined to focus on my blessings by sending my thanks to the Father, even when thing seems hard.

This month may include posts about my family, which I am most thankful for, scripture the Lord brings to me, photos, quotes, maybe I can squeeze in a couple of crafts with the kids.  All of these will be to help me and hopefully you to focus one the blessings of our lives.
