Gratitude Journal

I have noticed a lot of gratitude going around these days.  As I have tried to sit still at the feet of Jesus each day, I journal.  Lately things I journal are prayers, scriptures that speak to me, adding to my gratitude list.  I haven't read...

I am very much excited to get my hands on this book while I am visiting the states.   Today I am very much grateful.

1. My children have friends to play with.

2.  No matter the distance, family we are with those we serve with.

3.  Yummy sausage grilled on the grill.

4.  Splurging on things like a Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.  It has been two long years and today our reunion was sweet!

5.  Splurging on marshmallows, roasting them and sharing with friends who sleepover.

6. Skype dates with friends from long time back.

7.  A soft comfy bed to rest in each night.

8.  Skype time with Grandparents to start the day!

9.  A day of preparation to host worship is our home on Sunday.

10.  A boy who loves his daddy!

House Group

We meet weekly with a wonderful group of believers here.  It is such a blessing each week and the kids surely enjoy it too!  We take turns hosting in our homes.  Today I just had to snap a photo of kid's church!  We always share a meal together.  And on most Sundays we take the Lord's supper together as a family.  So blessed and thankful for the group of friends and family.

Is this not the coolest playhouse ever???  I am begging Hubby to build the kids one, but he thinks it will too much work, to expensive, too hot...(all his words)!  We are wearing him down...I think.

Cultural Worship

Worship for us has been quite different since we left our homes 7 weeks ago. On Sunday mornings we have small group worship with our quad. These are the people we are living with. We also worship for 40 minutes together Tuesday through Friday. Each Sunday evening we have "cultural" worship. We have had African, Underground, Latin American, Middle Eastern, and this Sunday it was South Asian! It was great. We all dressed up South Asian. Men and boys sat on one side, women and girls on the other. Next Sunday we will have a deaf service. Most of the services have been in other languages. This is preparing us worship even when we don't understand what is being said. Shannon and I hope to be able to worship with a group of Kannada speakers. We think this will help our language learning. We also see the need to be able to worship in our heart language, English. Once we are on the field we will decided how to meet that need, whether we will attend a English house church or maybe an international church. Just thought I would share how we are worshiping our Savior during this time. What about you? What is most meaningful to you for worship?
