Beach Pictures
Here are a few of our beach pictures...
The island in the background is called Monkey Island. It is full of monkeys. People actually pay to go and see them. We have had our fill of monkeys to last us a lifetime!

Vacation 2012
We just returned from our vacation time at the beach. There is a place there called the Juniper Tree and it is specifically for "workers" like us. We loved every minute of it! We decided to drive there to save money. It was really the cheapest way for us to get there but after driving round trip 2168 kilometers we think we need to find a another cheap way! The roads in Thailand are amazing...compared to other countries we have lived in. But the driving is the same as the other countries we have lived in. Rules are not important and everyone is in a hurry. We passed a lot of stopping points the police had set up. The thing is, they don't care how fast your are going they are only looking for registration! HA! We left at 5:30 am on a Friday and arrived around 7:30pm that night. We only took one wrong turn and that took us about 30 more minutes to navigate back to the correct path.
The first day on the beach was perfect. There was no wind and no waves. We pretty much spent the entire day at the beach. Later that night Rocket started running a really high fever. I medicated him and put him to bed with a prayer that he would be sick for too long. All the next day he rested off and on. He would start running fever again and feeling really bad, I would medicate him and then he would want to swim in the ocean until the medicine would wear off. I felt so bad to keep him inside when we were all wanting to be outside playing. Monday morning he woke up feeling great and didn't stop the rest of the week. We only had one other mishap...the waves took him out one afternoon and he lost his glasses in the ocean. I was prepared and had an old pair for him. He could not see as well, but at least it was something. I teased him that some fish must have needed to see too!
We spent the week playing in waves, swimming in the pool, reading (at least I did that), and one day we went into a nearby national park and explored a cave. Ok, Hubby took the kids into a cave to explore. I went about 30 feet into the cave and has somewhat of a panic moment! There was a three foot space between two rocks we were suppose to climb through. NO thank you! I had no idea what was on the other side of the rock and it was pitch black. I told Hubby I would meet them at the other end on the outside! He and the kids explored the whole cave for about an hour. When they came out they told me, "Mom, you would have been so scared!" There were bats in there! When I saw the pictures they took I was so thankful to not have gone further in. HA!
