Join me over at The Gypsymama for 5 minute Friday.
Grit. Makes me think back to growing up in West Texas. There was always grit in our home. My mom would spend hours and days cleaning our home, but it was like fighting a forest fire with a water hose. March was the worst for the sand storms. When praying and pondering where the Lord would lead us to serve him, I always strayed away from the "gritty" places. You know, the places that are hot and windy and sandy. Places where there is a lot of grit. Thankfully the Lord hasn't seen fit to call me to a "gritty" place...yet. Although the last week has been awful around here. Not so much grit but lots of smoke and ash in the sky. We can't see the sun or the mountains around us for the smoke is too thick. I know there is some sort of a spiritual lesson in living with grit but it takes me a little longer to process than 5 minutes. :)

It takes grit to deal with the smoke and ash in the sky and dirt in the home...and I am pretty sure THAT will also take more than 5 minutes! :) Here is hoping the view improves very soon!
